India...May 12

After a long day of flying, we successfully made it to India.  It is great to finally be here after the past few weeks and months of preparation.  Upon arriving after midnight we quickly turned in knowing today would be a long day of fighting jet lag.  This morning, we began by venturing out into the streets as we made our way to PMI’s Resource Center for a time of study in the Word with their staff.  Following a time of singing and refection, we began orientation that helped acquaint us with PMI’s work and how we will be helping over the next few weeks.  It gave us a greater understanding for the work, the people they connect with, and how we can best assist the work while we are here.  We worked through the plan for the next few weeks and made sure we are ready to go…all prepared for upcoming events and projects.  Following orientation, we became familiar with the local metro transit.  Taking it to a district known as CP, we were able to walk the streets, do a bit a of shopping, and sample some southern Indian cuisine at a vegetarian restaurant.  We had a great day, everyone is pretty energized, and we’re looking forward to a great day of cultural adaptation tomorrow.
