Our first day of Kids Camps and English Camps got off to a great start! Kids from several different slum communities were able to come participate…in fact they all showed up early; which was encouraging to us and had us moving right away. The kids participated in story time, games, crafts, songs, hygiene lessons, and of course we ate some too. Many of the kids in this camp have been involved with PMI for some time so they have a great grasp already on spiritual things. It’s great to be able to help “water the seeds” as so many of them are at different points in their spiritual journey.
This afternoon kicked off our first of 8 free English classes. We had nearly 50 people show up. Those present were from all over: India, Iran, South Africa, Korea, and more. We had a variety of interest from people at different stages of the English learning process…everything from people who are learning basic vocabulary to PH.D candidates who are looking for career advancement. The broad spectrum of English proficiency caused us to think quickly on our feet for sure. We began with some games that focused on adjectives. We then had each person take an English evaluation test. From there we were able to split into groups based on different levels of proficiency and able to have conversational growth lessons that focused on “kinship”. We were able to learn a lot about their families and we’re looking forward to building some solid relationships as the sessions progress. Those present for all eight sessions will receive a certificate from PMI certifying completion of a conversational-focused English course. They’re pretty excited about that.
And I couldn’t help but through this picture in. When’s the last time you saw a cow changing a car battery? The team is doing well. Everyone really jumped in yesterday and it was so encouraging to see such a unified willingness to serve. Pray for a few cases of minor stomach issues but other than that, we’re doing great!

I actually saw a cow changing a tire the other day...but never a car battery.
Thanks for posting the pics. It's good to see our kids. Many here in Grand Haven, Mi. are praying for all. Much love to Alicia and Evan.
